Visualising Kitchen Backsplashes and Countertops with AI

The Short Answer
Choosing permanent, expensive finishes based on a 2×2 cm sample is risky. AI visualisation tools allow you to upload a photo of your kitchen and see style transformations — including different countertop moods and backsplash aesthetics — rendered in your unique lighting and alongside your existing cabinets.
The Problem with Small Samples
A gorgeous soapstone countertop sample can look completely different when covering 4 metres of kitchen benchtop. Scale changes everything. What is subtly veined up close can feel busy at scale. What looked neutral in the showroom can look muddy under your kitchen's specific lighting.
Apply an AI Kitchen Style to See the Full Picture
Each GenieDIY Kitchen template applies a holistic transformation — cabinet finish, countertop mood, and lighting aesthetic — to your actual kitchen photo. You see the entire effect, not just one element in isolation.
Try Dark vs Light Transformations
Curious whether a dark countertop or a bright white surface works better with your cabinets? Apply the Luxury template (rich, dramatic) versus the Modern White template (bright, clean) to the same kitchen photo and compare instantly.
Add Individual Kitchen Elements
Beyond full-style transformations, the Elements panel lets you add individual items to your kitchen photo:
Bar Stools
8 bar stool options — counter stools, backless stools, rattan, velvet swivel — embedded by AI into your kitchen island photo.
Pendant Lighting
Add pendant lights or a chandelier over your island from the Lighting category. AI places them at the correct height and scale.
Plants and Decor
A potted plant on the windowsill or a trailing pothos on the counter dramatically softens a kitchen. See it before buying.
